Tulane University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master's, doctorate, and professional degrees. Questions about the accreditation of Tulane University may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).
SACSCOC is an institutional accreditor for quality assurance for degree-granting higher education institutions. It serves as the common denominator of shared values and practices among its members in the United States and international institutions of higher education approved by the SACSCOC Executive Council, Board of Trustees, and the Appeals Committee of the College Delegate Assembly.
Reaffirmation of accreditation occurs every ten years, with an interim report due every five years. Tulane's accreditation was last reaffirmed by SACSCOC in 2022. A Fifth-Year Interim Report is due in 2027-2028 and Tulane's next decennial reaffirmation of accreditation process will take place in 2031-2032. Tulane's SACSCOC accreditation is a university-wide effort and undertaking. To advise the Provost and the university community and to support the institutional accreditation process, Tulane has a Compliance Certification Committee with representation from across the university. As part of the decennial reaffirmation process, Tulane must submit a compliance certification report demonstrating compliance with The Principles of Accreditation, as well as a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that addresses a focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning. Tulane's most recent reaffirmation process included its Quality Enhancement Plan now the Connolly Alexander Institute for Data Science.
